Baby Girl Nursery Makeover

I was thrilled when asked to complete this baby girl nursery makeover!

This beautiful newlywed couple was expecting their very first child and trusted me to bring their visions to reality. They were so easy to work with. I sat down with the expecting mom to go over her Pinterest inspiration and it was as simple as that. We talked about colors, textures, patterns and even picked out the crib all on day one!

Before:

She knew she wanted a soft pink for the wall but wasn’t set on any particular color so I grabbed a few color cards to go over. In the end, she transferred the final say so to me and the wall was painted (insert paint color here).

Fixing Nursery Makeover Mistakes

The gold crib really didn’t stand out against the pink wall. If you choose a gold crib you definitely want it to a focal piece and it’s literally one of the first things your eyes go to when you enter a nursery so I had to come up with a way to fix it.

I decided to go with a simple but classic board and batten wall. My husband and I installed the boards and gave the design three coats of Whisper White paint in a satin finish. Then we added floral stickers from etsy that we soon realized were too small. We ordered another pair and lined them on each side of the wall. I aligned them to make 2 stickers appear as one (refer to first picture).

I rolled out the rug, hung bookshelves, mirrors and curtains. The large wood name sign was added and the vinyl middle name was later replaced with a wood sign as well.

To finish it off, I added a little greenery and a custom wall sign.

The once empty room was now beautiful and ready for it’s new occupant.
